Results assume identical rectangular cartons stacked in neat rows. Real loading usually fits 5–10% less because of carton bulge, dunnage and loading gaps, and the heaviest cartons should go on the bottom. Your sizes are calculated in your browser and are not sent anywhere. SMK confirms the final loading plan before booking.

Why is the carton count lower than container volume ÷ carton volume?

Cartons cannot be cut to fill the gaps along the walls and ceiling. The calculator tries every way of turning the cartons, including mixing two directions, and shows the arrangement that fits the most whole cartons. Volume used is usually 75–90%.

Should I ship LCL or a full container?

As a rough guide, under about 13 CBM LCL (shared container) is usually cheaper. Between about 13 and 20 CBM it is worth comparing LCL with a 20GP. Above that, a full container is normally the better choice. Rates change, so ask us for both prices when you are close to the line.

What does W/M mean for LCL?

LCL is charged per "weight or measure": 1 cubic metre or 1,000 kg, whichever is greater. A shipment of 8 CBM weighing 3,000 kg is charged as 8 W/M.

Why does it say "limited by weight"?

Heavy cartons can reach the container's maximum payload before the space is full. Road weight limits in China and Canada can be lower still, so heavy loads should be checked with us before booking.

Can it plan mixed carton sizes or pallets?

This version handles one carton size at a time. For mixed sizes, pallets or oversized cargo, send us your packing list and we will prepare a loading plan.
